say hi to my ex-wisdom tooth!
that was around october last year when i first met him, and on one minute glance on my tooth, he said, "without x-ray scan i can tell you your tooth has to be removed since there's no more gum space for it, and it has to be an operation"
yep...my tooth is growing inside the gum, with only a tip of it appearing at the surface (which told me that something is growing there...coz otherwise-thankfully-it has never hurt)
and the very first question he asked me was,
"are you PR or singaporean?" @____@
"oh, if yes, you could use your medisave to cover up to 80% of the cost. the cost could be 200+ up to 800"
@_________@ wtf?!
he said, even though my tooth is growing horizontal and pushing forward, my lower gum teeth formation wont be swayed. but whether it would hurt in the future it is something he couldn't predict, for it could hit any nerve or else infection from food trapped. otherwise whether i took it out today or 2 months later or even 2 years later he said it would all depends on my finance.
and then he glance to my patient card and said, "come back in few years time after you start working"
gosh...and so it was...i wanted to take it before cny (so i can start my holiday earlier) but luckily the nurse remind me that it might hurt when i eat, so i then arrange after cny. i got 3 days mc including the day of operation. the operation itself was only around 20mins. after he jabbed in the pain killer into my mouth, i was taken to the x-ray room, and then while waiting for the pain killer to kick in, he attended another patient, and then he came and put a cloth at my eyes.
that's when i felt a pang of panic, but, "what do you want to see? there's nothing you can see"
oh well, he is DAMN right! it was a semi translucent cloth so i can still sense the light, but otherwise im glad to not see whatever tools he put into my mouth! and during the operation all i heard was the cracking sound and somehow knowing him digging into my mouth but otherwise i felt nothing.
then he asked me whether i want the tooth back or not, and remind me not to spat out anything or it would made the bleeding worse. at the payment counter the nurse told me to come back 2 days later to take out the stitch.
actually, that's when i felt horrify. from the whole process, the most painful part actually is when he jabbed in the painkiller to my jaw. i winced thinking i had to get another shot to take out my stitches :(
2 days later i came back feeling much more nervous than when i walk in to operate my tooth. when the nurse call me into the room, and sit me on the chair, i couldn't help but play up my mp3 with speaker since i didn't bring earphone and the room was super quite...
the doctor this time made me waited until almost an hour until i doze off, and you know what?
he opened my mouth, and i heard one 'tek'- a sound of something broken, and that's it.
that's it.
and he smiled and asked 'why so nervous?'
yah right!!!! why so nervous!!!!!
thank you universe, the whole process was super smooth sailing and my gum did not swollen at all, nor it hurt or made me dizzy, so i would like to recommend my dentist to you (haha in fact i had and im glad both my ex colleague and friend found the doctor good as well) if you are in singapore and need for a dentist, go find him! really, it is almost cheaper than in indonesia!
