it's dad's bday! right one day after father's day, both of us went to Bumi Beringin for lunch. it is owned by my high school owner, who has several other beautiful spot around north sulawesi. Bumi Beringin -the restaurant name- is the old name or i would say..the nick name of Manado.this fusion restaurant is located at the top of the hill, overlooking manado and the sea side, what an awesome view during the day. i repeat, during the day. i dont think it looks this good at night, since, you know, this is not hong kong...
and so we ordered bro's recommendation: iga bakar, which is meant for 3-4 persons size.
the waitress explained that the food there are designed for sharing style, thus explain their jumbo size and price. but we both agree the taste and tenderness worth the price. and the fries are surprisingly great! including their custom sauce (i think it is a mix of sweet soy sauce and chili sauce)
a vegie is a must. this one though is just, well, so-so.
and for the weather was chilly we ordered a iga soup, which i thought is nice but dad said it is nothing to compare with the one he ate long time ago at surabaya ^^;
and you know what, for that lunch, there was only two occupied table. ours and another 4 ang mos. such a serene (empty) restaurant. nice place if you like the quite place to relax.
this is the bill, and we take away the left over iga, which is enough for another 2 more meals. so i say, this really really worth it :D
