good morning! i am sleepy as usual. which is bad :((
yesterday morning i remembered that i saw 'BEST PAU IN TOWN' signage at the hawker market near my house and i decided to check it out.
so confidently i walk to the store only to find out that in spite of the big english words in the signage claiming their superiority, the rest are in chinese T__________T and i can only half-no-quarter- guessing what's is what.
nevermind- since they display it in a big glass cabinet, i just point out the biggest pau to the lady:*she greeted me in mandarin*
"zhi ge shi shen me pau?" i said (what's the filling?)
"luo mai ji" she said (the last word register in my head as 'chicken')
"gei wo liang ge" i said - then i handed her the money and walked away, rushing to catch my bus.
then i thought.. '1.50 for each is quite an expensive pau.. the one i usually buy is just 0.70.. wonder how good it is..'
then i took a peek inside the plastic bag, and surprised. i stopped and gave the items a proper views.
it's brownish.
upon closer look, it's wrapped individually inside plastic container.
and when i held it up, it's NOT PAU at all! it's rice. yah, luo mai kai fan! (sticky rice) *and shit! she didn't gave me any spoon* i dont know how it ended up in my bag, maybe under the pau tray were all these luo mai kai, and she mistakenly thought i pointed at the it rather than the pau.
i heshitate, wonder if i should walked back and claim my pau, but super paiseh +curious of the luo mai kai fan taste, i headed staight to the bus stop.
that's what happened when chicken talks to duck. T_____________T
*ps... luo mai kai indeed needs lotus leaf as wrapper not plastic container!

so i believe the conversation should be like this:
You: "quekk quek quek queek quekk queekkk?"
Aunty: "Kookk Kok Kokkk"
You: "Quek Queekkk 2 Quuek~"
...
Lame joke, I know. =_+
