the beginning of our 10days europe journey starts here.

landed on schiphol airport all alone, because suddenly the other three girls who departs from london airport missed their flight *____* and so i decided to exit the airport on my own.
and guess what!
the immigration officer send me to their office for further questioning.
probably i matched the look of some terrorist trying to bring in bomb to europe country.
or more likely...some illegal worker trying their luck there.

made my way to centraal station and thankfully found a very cute machine that printed out free map for you (quite detailed) and then dragged my luggage to find the hostel.
super sunny day, super packed city. super vibrant city. reminds me alot of HK.
love those pretty shoplot facade! they are just beautiful (esp under the blue sky)

all those pretty little canal and alley made me confused and spent whole lots of time trying to locate the hostel but enjoyed the scenery along the way =)
it's a mystery to me why they made their facade slanted

the room is nice and clean, and bunk bed always reminds me of the dormitory during highschool days. good memories.

so i decided to visit the famous van gogh museum while waiting for my friends! since they had clearly stated not interested in visiting it, i dashed to get the ticket that has 'skip queue' feature on it. get a 24hour public transport ticket (valid on bus, train and tram except the one operates from and to airport)
a cute girl saw me standing alone at the tram station and cheerfully approach me and talk in korean. XD i then explain im not korean but apparently her english wasn't good so i dont know why she was all alone. lol wish i had known some more korean words! (thinking after all those time spent on their dramas!)

a guard saw me and quickly told me not to take any picture...it was a fine day and the park outside looks so beautiful!
enjoyed the museum very muchiee and decided to treat myself a piece of cake as super late lunch. creamy little thing with a jelly glaze on top. looks pretty taste badly.

back to the area around centraal station: look at the crowddddddddd
not just the two-legs crowd, but there's lots of four-legs one too.
and so finally the two missy arrived and we headed back to the area near van gogh museum called Leidseplein (it's bout 5 trams station away from centraal) and they both purchase 1 hour ticket (lol, not single trip, but 1 hour. that's really new to me. and when we get down the tram, an uncle asked if he could use their tickets but they didnt give it up. at last...the dinner obviously lasted more than an hour and so didnt get to use it anymore)
leidseplein has lots of lanes full of bar and restaurant, a lively dining area. my friend henni (on the left) had a recommendation from her friend to a dutch restaurant and the food was truly good.
just that the service was bad and we waited for almost an hour before the food arrive about 9.
that's hotchspotch (we had the one with beaf meat and very special mash potato mixed with carrot bits and extremely delicious gravy.
the one on the further side is A meatball dish serve with potato (we was puzzled to see the menu and could belief that it turns out to be really just one meatball XD)

we decided to walk back to centraal (bcoz they want to save the transport cost) and to digest the food so we follow the tram rail on the road and trace our way back to hostel.
one tiring but adventurous day!
ps: amsterdam has really lots of leng chai!
