yaya, finally i had uploaded my bangkok trip pics on my flickr
the reason i upload it there... because it can upload up to 6-7 images once :)
Bangkok is a interesting place, feel very much like Indonesia. the unevenness.. the untidiness.. the chaos.
and the food. generally in my tongue it is too sweet. everything is sweet. including pork ball! @_@ and i saw the bbq banana seems so unique but im darn sure it will be eaten with thick sweet sauce so i dont dare to try ^^; next time will..next time will...
i was very disappointed didn't get into grand palace. my fault for not knowing when is the closing time. (it closed at 3!) and also i didn't get to wat arun-the temple of the dawn. and! i had been looking forward to eat deep fried insects- but , tak ada bulat.. *mou yun* hahahaha...too bad...
im super happy get to take picture with very- thai mr.mcd :) 'sawadeeka' *hallo in thai*. everytime i pay things at cashier they will say thank you in thai and give that hand pose. special hor!
i went to the giant budha temple too. called wat pho. something unexplainable happen. must be a good omen :) on the temple itself there's a row of metal bowls aligning along the wall to the exit. it's the coins donation. i buy a bowl of coins and then throw a coin into each metal bowls. on each coin i put a wish. till the end, my coins finished before i reached the end. my friend asked whether i kept one or not. he said he took one. that had never crossed my mind.
that night when i count my money, i found one of that coin in my wallet. it's a small coin equal to malaysia 1 cent size. it seems that thai have also stop using that small coins.
the next morning i asked my friend whether his small coins is still with him or not. then he showed me his coin taken from inside his wallet. i asked how many coin did he take. he said ONLY one.
ah. about cost. this 5 days 4 nights trip costs:
bus to KL SGD 35
Air asia KL-thai round trip MYR 500
Bus back to SG MYR 45
backpacker hostel deposit MYR 15
thai baht i bought from singapore is THB 7500
thai baht i exchange there SGD 50
anyway-with the ever changing exhange rate, the total that i spent was around SGD 650. it could be cheaper if we get the air ticket much earlier. the ticket was purchased 2 weeks before departure.
conclusion: i will visit bangkok again, i will not spend a cent on clothes again till jan 2009, i will always remember to do research properly including the closing time of the tourist attraction places. i will remember to bring converter, and the most important is whom you go with. walking with a great friend will still be enjoyable even if the destination sucks. and vice versa.
thai prawn is JUST GREAT! and cheap! *too bad kai didn't get to eat it*
