birmingham 142nd, the last day of january

today is such a great day, thank you Universe

for all the small little things that sum up my high spirit

from the perfect soft blue sky with soft groups of cloud

and the fact that it's 2 degree and i survived with leggings

and managed to scan lots reference images

also, borrowed 'planet earth BBC' from the library (just realize there's a rack of dvd that we can borrow, mostly old movies and documentaries. after all these time)

the cool air is good, love it very much

keep wondering when will i see sprout from the dry tree branches

and walk to the tesco to buy rice and chicken drumstick

but ended up walking into zara too, just curious whether the pretty skirt i spotted yesterday is still there. whether we are fated.

we do! and it is a further-reduction-discounted item, the right size, and just left one piece.

how can i not excited about it? and it fit just well. and i love the fact that it is high waist, because i have slightly longer upper body, and here at UK i always spotted high waist pants and skirt

and the shirt is lovely too, though slightly reminds me of police shirt bcoz of the color and the details at shoulder. nevertheless! 50% off and i can use it at office next time.

and in a spontaneous way, saw my classmate and we had a short chat. his bro is getting married and he is going to meet his dad to buy suits. i asked how old is his bro. he said he is 24, and by summer he will be married in his 25th.

wedding.

two of my highschool friends are getting married. one in mid feb and another one in march.

recently chat with an old friend and he told me that he had found a girlfriend. i asked how old is the lady

"rabbit year, younger than me two years. this year 24"

which brought me to realization.

24.

no wonder friends are (starting to) getting married this year.

shops are putting up spring collections.

has the winter left?

without a words, just like that?

-------

this realization has brought a huge regret on my heart.

and today did things that i regretted. how could i be so forgetful?

------

regrets, will you remind me tomorrow to live my life better?

-----

i had idea of writing letters to my future husband hahahhahhaha
hopefully will remember to pass him what i had written so far.
wherever you are, hope you are doing well.

and guess what?

a guy was playing this on guitar today as i walked down the road to grab some groceries!

in a faster pace, the song filled the whole road

how nice!

i wonder if he could play winter sonata too :p

the road less travelled 1.2

1.2 delaying gratification

"it is a process of scheduling the pain and pleasure of life in such a way as to enhance the pleasure by meeting and experiencing the pain first and getting it over with. it is the only decent way to live."

"while many have a well-developed capacity to delay gratification, some 15-16 years olds seems to have hardly develop this capacity at all; indeed, some seem even to lack the capacity entirely. -they are impulsive, and their impulsiveness spills over into their social life as well."

"why is this? the answer is not absolutely, but most of the signs rather clearly point to the quality of parenting as the determinant."

PECK, M Scott, 1990. The Road Less Travelled. p 17-19

one greedy fella

want to read book(s), want to learn how to knit a red scarf, want to research bout trip, want to learn korean, want to learn italian, want to eat fruit and somehow really want to watch drama.

i want them all now.

ah, and still contemplating if i should confront my 3 gentlemen housemates about taking turn in throwing rubbish.

one part of me is saying, 'this is no big deal, just some rubbish. i can handle it'
the other part of me is saying, 'you are spoiling them. they must learn their responsibility too'
then the other part says, 'perhaps it is you that are being challenged. you must learn how to confront others as part of your growing-up-scheme'

running away is always the easiest choice.

time to list down and play the priority game.

and thanks God for today, one fine day.

i joined a holy communion at st. martin's church this morning at 9.30

the roads were dead quite, so so so empty. fine cloudy morning.

and all are elders ^___^

who said british ppl are grumpy? well, to be fair you can find grumpy old man in any skin color.

the old ladies are definitely very warm and friendly.

one fine day =)

next time i will go to the 11 o'clock instead ^^" they told me it's a bigger and livelier one
